Amravati Airport Inaugurated, Boosts Connectivity in Vidarbha
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu inaugurated the Amravati Airport alongside Maharashtra’s Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar.

Developed under the UDAN scheme with RCS-VGF funding, the airport began operations with Alliance Air’s inaugural Amravati–Mumbai flight. A demonstration flight was also conducted at the upcoming Air India Flying Training Organisation (FTO), set to become South Asia’s largest—marking a major milestone for India's aviation training ecosystem.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the development, calling it “great news for Maharashtra, especially the Vidarbha region,” and said the airport will significantly boost commerce and connectivity.
