Amit Shah Unveils ₹487 Cr Passenger Terminal & Maitri Dwar in West Bengal

Constructed by the Land Port Authority of India

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated a new Passenger Terminal Building and Maitri Dwar in Petrapole, West Bengal, constructed by the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI). The terminal, built at a cost of around ₹500 crore and spanning nearly 60,000 square meters, can accommodate up to 25,000 passengers daily.

The Maitri Dwar, developed at a cost of ₹6 crore, aims to facilitate smooth transit, with the capacity to handle over 600–700 trucks per day, boosting trade and connectivity between India and Bangladesh.
