Agra gets Rs.200 cr new road network

Under the state government plans to improve interstate connectivity, the UP government has recently cleared 54 new roads of which 10 roads have been sanctioned for Agra region only, said deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, adding that the move is aimed at boosting business and job generation opportunities. The state government has already released the first installment of Rs.200 crore for the Agra project where new routes will connect Shamsabad, Khandauli and Fatehabad areas to various parts of the state. In addition to this, Gorakhpur will get 15, Jhansi to have 14, seven in Varanasi, two each in Meerut and Moradabad districts and one road each in Azamgarh, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Faizabad districts. Currently the state PWD is making mandatory arrangements to start ground work as soon as possible.
