Agra city in UP is set to get an intra-city connectivity with its own metro rail services offering relief not just to tourist visitors from across the world but also from traffic congestion. It will connect some of the famous places in the city, such as the Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. The project, which has received the Union Cabinet's nod, will require an investment of around ₹8,379 crore, and will take around five years to complete. Itt will have two corridors passing through the heart of the city and connecting several tourist hotspots. The first proposed corridor of 16 km, will run from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar and have 14 stations. Corridor two of 14 kms will connect Sikandra to Hotel Trident; the route will be part underground and part elevated, and will have 13 stations of which 6 will be elevated.
