Afcons Infrastructure Wins Kochi Metro's Kakkanad Extension Project
Afcons Infrastructure has secured the position of the lowest bidder for constructing the 11.20-km viaduct and nine stations for the Kochi metro's Kakkanad extension (Phase 2), known as the Pink Line. The bid closely aligns with the estimate prepared by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) for the project. However, the final decision on awarding the work awaits evaluation and approval from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which has offered financing for the project. As per AIIB's tender guidelines, this process is anticipated to conclude within 15 to 20 days. Afcons Infrastructure previously constructed the Goshree bridges connecting Kochi city with Goshree islands.
