Advancing Towards Net Zero Through GreenPro Ecolabelled Materials: CII

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) inaugurated the 7th Annual GreenPro Summit on October 16 at Le Meridien, New Delhi. The summit, themed “Advancing towards Net Zero, Low Carbon Materials and Technologies,” aimed to promote eco-labeled, performance-tested, and sustainable products.
This year’s focus areas included enhancing the circular economy and promoting green procurement. These initiatives are vital for addressing global environmental challenges, fostering economic resilience, and driving sustainability. The event highlighted the role of public procurement in creating demand for green products and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
During the summit, CII GreenPro signed a mutual recognition agreement with Eco Choice New Zealand. The MoU aims to harmonize ecolabel standards, promoting cross-recognition of sustainable products and boosting green trade between India and New Zealand.
Mr. Jamshyd N Godrej Chairman, CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre said, “We are proud to see the rapid progress of the green movement in India, with over 12 billion square feet of rated green buildings and the growing adoption of eco-labelling like GreenPro. This demonstrates the collective commitment of industry, government, and communities to building a sustainable future. However, the challenge remains to scale up these efforts and ensure that green practices become the norm. Collaboration will be key to accelerating our progress towards net-zero and addressing critical issues like air pollution."
