AAI launches ₹132-cr Mangaluru airport expansion

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has launched construction work for expanding the terminal building at the Mangaluru Intl' Airport at an investment of ₹132-crore. The expansion will help the airport to handle an additional 1 million passengers a year and cater to 730 passengers at a time. The existing terminal has an area of 19,500 sq.m and will add another 11,343 sq.m at the international arrival area and two more baggage conveyors. The Centre is currently in the process of providing additional air connectivity to New Delhi and Bengaluru and flight services to Goa and Pune, said an official spokesperson.
