NBCC starts Rs.1,580 cr station reconstruction

The NBCC, which has secured the railway station redevelopment project in Lucknow at an investment of Rs.1,580 crore, has recently started the construction work of the Gomti Nagar & Charbagh Railway Stations at Lucknow. The construction cost of Phase 1 is approx. Rs.374 crore and Rs.1206 crore for Gomti Nagar and Charbagh respectively. The company, which has been entrusted with the redevelopment of 10 Railway Stations across India will carry out the work in a phased manner on a self-revenue generation model by commercial utilization of vacant railway land parcels. The redevelopment of these railway stations on lines of Smart Development to enhance passenger amenities, create congestion-free station premises, seamless integration with other modes of transport and passenger friendly services; while incorporating green building and energy efficient features. The redevelopment work entailed expansion & modernization of railway stations, beautification of railway premises and building world-class infrastructure in line with the government‘s thrust to make railways as an attractive choice for rail users.
