BKT has launched the 24.00 R35 SR 47 tire for the 65 tonner dump-truck for the rocky terrain, and the 29.5 R25 SR 41 for articulated dumpers. BKT displayed its OTR range with aplomb at Excon 2013. Meanwhile, the company also showcased a wide range of tires across various utilitarian segments. Mr. Rajiv Poddar, the company's Executive Director, informed, "All the other tire manufacturers are just focused on sales, but BKT's philosophy is totally different as we are providing world class products which are at par with world class manufacturers. We are the only ones having OTR radials, in India, which are value for money products backed by service. Soon, we will be launching ultra-large OTR tires as well."


He continued, "We are also planning to increase our indigenous market share, and are focusing on the Mining Segment as there is tremendous potential. Talking of the export market, we are planning to establish our presence in Russia, more European countries, and South Africa."

Mr. Dilip Vaidya, President & Director – Technology, stated, "BKT is the first Indian OTR tire company to adopt greenness. We banned all the carcinogenic chemicals in 2009, and that's why all our products are eco-friendly. Nowadays, there's a growing concern about the excessive usage of natural rubber by the tire industry, and in fact, people have started looking for substitutes. Although there's no substitute to natural rubber, BKT is exploring possible alternatives and our R&D Wing is constantly engrossed in this endeavour."
