JK Tyre launches new tyres for wheel loaders and skid steer loaders
JK Tyre has launched three OTR (off-the-road) tyres: the 26.5-25 Loader Champ 28PR E4/L4 TL, the 23X8.50-12 Jet Trax Ultima 6PR TL, and the 5.7-12 Jet Trax Super II 4PR TL. Says Anuj Kathuria, President (India), “JK Tyre is at the helm of introducing several cutting-edge products. Our strong position in the OTR segment resonates with our commitment to innovation and making products that maximize performance and durability, even on the most challenging terrains. Our three new tyres in this category will be the breakthrough products and will further strengthen our position in the OTR segment.”
Sharing details on the products, Srinivasu Allaphan, Director - Sales & Marketing, says, “Our 26.5-25 Loader Champ is a premium L4/E4 heavy-duty Tyre designed for wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks. The Tyre has higher tread pattern depth with specially engineered stepped lug design to ensure improved traction and offers higher resistance to cuts & damages in arduous mining and operating conditions. The two new tyres for skid steer loaders 23X8.50-12 'Jet Trax Ultima' and 5.7-12 'Jet Trax Super II' are designed for international markets. The tyres are manufactured with a new age silica-based tread compound that provides better resistance to wear & tear. The tyres also feature a robust wide wall & rim guard design which provides additional resistance to external damages and greater protection against damages in side wall & rim flange area. The specially designed stepped lugs provide excellent self-cleaning advantages.”
He adds, “Our aim is to bring more value to our customers with tyres that will drive higher performance, productivity & lower down time. For example, for wheel loaders, we offer the ‘Loader Champ’ with sidewall protectors which provides additional cut protection against side wall damages to tyres in severe underfoot conditions, coupled with exceptional wear & cut resistant tread compound which ensures high mileage & enhanced cut penetration resistance”.
Kathuria is optimistic of growing demand for OTR tyres provided the push for infra projects such as: GatiShakti, Bharatmala, Golden Quadrilateral, high speed rail etc., which will boost the demand for various OTR tyres.
He sees good demand of tyres for mobile and truck-mounted cranes, where the company plans to introduce new products for all-terrain and material handling equipment, including the higher capacity cranes. "JK Tyre is the only OEM manufacturer for supply of the specially engineered tyres for heavy lifting equipment such as Girder transporters and straddle carriers which are being used in India’s first high speed rail project i.e. Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor."
As regarding the services provided by JK Tyre to its customers, Allaphan informs, “Our dedicated OTR Sales & Service team takes care of demands from the OEMs and the replacement market. The team is involved in getting the product specifications from buyers, carrying out necessary site audits to getting the tyres tested and offering the customer the best custom designed solutions selling. We have around 400 dealers in the OTR space and will be increasing our presence further to cater to the needs of our customers. Some of our channel partners also offer complete cradle to grave solutions to our large mining customers i.e. Undertaking complete on-site Tyre Management."
In addition, JK Tyre also offers technology solutions like TPMS (Tyre Temperature & Pressure Monitoring Systems). These TPMS sensors when mounted on tyres, provides 24X7 visibility on health of tyre, which is very critical to run large OTR Tyres in remote mine sites. This real time information on tyre pressure & temperature helps in improving safety, productivity & minimizing the downtime of the machines.
JK Tyre’s production facility in Mysore is equipped with state-of-the-art R&D center and a testing unit. The company has a total of 6000 dealers and 650+ dedicated brand shops called Steel Wheels and Xpress Wheels.
