Construction and farming machine manufacturing major Escorts showcased India’s first electric and hydrostatic tractor, along with an expanded global portfolio of tractors for the export and domestic market, on its new platform called Esclusive 2017. The company has also unveiled a powerful100-HP backhoe loader for the first time in India, for the export market.
Escorts has invested close to `20-30 crore in the development of its compact tractors that will cater to 22 HP to 90 HP range under its flagship brands Farmtrac and Powertrac, compliant with the Tier-4 emission norms of Europe and America. These brands come under the New Escort Tractor Series (NETS) that include higher horsepower tractors of 70-90 HP and compact tractors of 22-90 HP, including tractors for paddy and haulage.
The new product range is designed to meet the requirements in markets such as USA, Europe, Latin America, Africa and the ASEAN countries, and of the new-gen farmers in India who are willingly adopting new farming techniques.

He informed that the mechanical compact tractor will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2018 and the hydrostatic tractor in the second quarter. The electric edition is still in a nascent stage of development and production will take another year or so.
