China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited (CRCHI) showcased its comprehensive range of equipment and products at bauma that included solutions for the whole industry chain in the field of tunnel construction.

It emerged as the world’s leading total solution provider for intelligent cluster systems of underground engineering equipment and rail transit system, with its display of full-section tunnel boring machine including the super large diameter slurry TBM ‘Jinghua’, drilling and blasting tunnel equipment, mining equipment like the coal mine multi-function bolt miner, concrete shotcreting machine, and other advanced technology and products.

The full-face tunnel boring machine range of CRCHI contains 9 series of more than 170 types of products, covering three directions of horizontal, inclined and vertical shaft, with diameters ranging from 0.5-23 meters.

Beijing East Sixth Ring Road Reconstruction Project
CRCHI’s 16.07m mega slurry TBM Jinghua is being applied in Beijing East Sixth Ring Road Reconstruction Project where it has successfully excavated 4,772 meters and reached the intermediate air shaft after 16 months since its initial excavation. It has created a 542-m excavation record in a single month. It is the first 16m-level mega slurry TBM in China.

Pearl River Estuary Tunnel
By Aug 16, 2022, China’s deepest undersea TBM ‘Shenjiang No.1’ had excavated 662 meters in the Pearl River Estuary Tunnel of the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway. With a maximum buried depth of 106 meters and high-water pressure construction area of 110 meters, the tunnel is currently the domestic underwater shield tunnel with the longest buried depth and the highest water pressure.

Mumbai coastal road tunnel
In India, CRCHI’s largest diameter TBM (Φ12.19m) has created a new hard rock construction record by excavating 456 meters in a single month during the construction of the Mumbai coastal road tunnel.

Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway
This project is the first to use large-scale mechanization, matching China’s superior construction and intelligent buildings. CRCHI provided complete tunnel construction intelligent equipment for the project, which is being widely applied in 21 work areas of 15 tunnels in the Hubei section of China. The number of tunnel operation personnel was greatly reduced, the environment of the tunnel construction improved, and the construction quality and anti-risk capability increased.

Rail transit equipment
The rail transit equipment segment of CRCHI has dozens of products of international advanced technology. Its rail track system products are exported to more than 30 countries in the world. More than 50 percent of the main line turnout used on the China-Laos railway line are produced by CRCHI.

The new rail transit equipment has been successfully applied in the Qingyuan Maglev tourism special line, Fenghuang Maglev sightseeing express line, and Changsha Maglev east extension line, besides other projects.

Drilling and blasting tunnel equipment
The drilling and blasting tunnel equipment includes a variety of product lines for advanced operations including excavation, ballast transportation, primary support, secondary lining, auxiliary operation, inspection, and maintenance, forming a whole series of products for the entire process of drilling and blasting in tunnel construction.
