To genuinely enhance productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness in the construction industry, a fundamental shift in mindset is required. Simply repeating established technologies, methods, and materials is no longer sufficient. Instead, we must champion project-specific innovation and creative problem-solving at every level. This means moving beyond routine. It is imperative to innovate with materials tailored to a project's unique demands and to apply creativity in selecting both processes and final products.

However, I have observed that while many construction professionals are eager to implement such innovative ideas, they are often hindered by rigid regulatory frameworks. Many state governments are hesitant to approve project-based solutions, preferring to mandate transformations based solely on past practices. This resistance stifles the very progress we need.
