Futuristic High-Rise Buildings
High-rises are the result of innovations and advancements in structural and mechanical systems, design, lighting, façade, building materials, and construction technologies. Use of ICT has resulted in designing complex forms of high-rise buildings, while major transformation is likely to occur with the use of AI. With Nanotechnology, the primary properties of conventional concrete will be improved, and the functionalities enhanced. Technology will also be helpful in carrying out long lasting finishing works and enable easier maintenance of high-rise buildings.

High-rises are buildings that are 15m or above in height, irrespective of their occupancy as per the National Building Code of India. Other terms used for high-rise buildings are multi-storeyed buildings, tall buildings, and skyscrapers. A skyscraper has multiple floors of the order of 100 meters height or more, which make it a very high-rise building.
High-rise buildings are the outcome of technological innovations in engineering and material development. Technolo- gical advancements in structural systems, design, formwork, construction methods, elevators, lighting, heat and ventilation systems, building materials, energy efficiency, software design, and construction methods, have changed the overall concept of high-rise buildings and provided a platform to architects for undertaking creative designing of such buildings.
