In a recent development in the country’s road and highway sector, Welspun Enterprises has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a National Highways Authority of India project in the state of Tamil Nadu entailing an investment of Rs. 18.37 billion, said sources, adding that it has opened the bid recently for the project involving scope of work for the construction of four-laning of the Sattanathapuram-Nagapattinam section of NH-45A (New NH-332) in Tamil Nadu under National Highway Development Program on Hybrid Annuity Mode. The consortium led by the company has emerged as the lowest bidder (L-I). On the other hand, the Company in a separate statement claimed that it has not yet received any formal communication from NHAI on this score and once it gets any formal communication it will make appropriate disclosures in detail about the current status of the aforesaid project, it added.
