UPMRC plans six new metro corridors in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRC) has decided to extend the services of metro rail in every nook and corner of the state capital. After the North-South Corridor, a DPR of the East-West Corridor has been prepared and sent to the cabinet for approval and 5 more metro corridors have been planned for Lucknow city. These routes would work as a lifeline for the increasing population of the city said MD, UPMRC, Kumar Keshav. Plans are also to expand the metro connectivity in Lucknow in the future. He also stated that the population of Lucknow would exceed 45 lakhs in the next 5 years and the new corridors will cater to the emerging transport requirement of the masses. The new corridors would include. Corridor-1: Secretariat-CG City South, Corridor-2: CCS Airport Metro Station-Atal Vihari Bajpai Stadium, Corridor-3: Indira Nagar-Atal Vihari Bajpai Stadium, Corridor-4: Charbagh-SGPGI Metro Station, Corridor-5: IIM Lucknow-Rajajipuram Station, Corridor-6: Munshi Pulia-Jankipuram, and all these corridors will be added to the UPMRC's future projects.
