UPMRC
Under the Priority Stretch of Kanpur Metro that falls between IIT & Motijheel, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has commenced the casting work of the ballast-less track on the metro line. Metro engineers casted the first cross-over, the points where Metro trains change their line and direction of movement, recently near IIT. Under the Priority Corridor, such cross-over are at terminal stations viz. IIT & Motijheel and at Geeta Nagar Station, where connections to the Polytechnic Metro Depot are planned. Praising the dedication of Metro engineers even under such times of crisis, UPMRC's MD Shri Kumar Keshav informed that work is progressing toward timely completion of the Priority Section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project even in the ongoing difficult times. Now, it has moved to the further stages of the project and has commenced the works of track, signaling-telecom, electrical and other systems too. He praised the track team of UPMRC and GC for their efforts and dedication resulting in such efficient outcomes. UPMRC has awarded the international contract for the supply of Head Hardened (HH) Rails for the Kanpur Metro Project, but with the objective of saving time they are utilizing existing resources and the rails which had been leftover during the Lucknow Metro Project.
