UP plans mega electronics manufacturing hub

The state government in Uttar Pradesh in the recently released electronics manufacturing policy facilitating the setting up of an electronics systems design and manufacturing (ESDM) units targeting investment of Rs.20,000 cror. The zone will come up in Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway as the region has been declared as an electronics manufacturing hub. The target of the policy is to attract investments in the ESDM sector and that an electronics mission directorate will also be set up for the successful implementation of this policy which will have a mission director, deputy director and other staff. To develop the state as the hub of electronics manufacturing, a new policy has been released under which the units set up in this zone will be eligible for claiming necessary benefits, official sources said, claiming that the move will help the state getting the status of a favorite investment destination.
