UP allocates ₹76,489-cr to Ganga Expressway

Uttar Pradesh Government has allocated ₹76,489 crore for the construction of the country's longest Ganga Expressway. Out of the total allocated amount, ₹489 crore has been provided for carrying out construction work and ₹72,000 crore will go into land acquisition. This expressway will connect Meerut with Prayagraj and also smaller cities like Hapur, Buland Shahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Sahajanahpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, and Pratapgarh will get connectivity to this highway. In future, the six-lane expressway will be extended to eight lanes.
The state government has also made a provision of ₹1,107 crore for the Purvancal expressway, ₹860 crore for the Gorakhpur link expressway and ₹1,492 crore for the Bundelkhand expressway.
