Unauthorized colonies get ₹3,723-cr budget booster in Delhi

The Delhi government in its budget 2020-21 has proposed an outlay of ₹3,723 crore for development of unauthorized colonies and slum clusters, announced deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, and elaborated that development work has been started there on fast track mode. The work has been completed or in progress at 1,281 out of the 1,797 unauthorized colonies. Work in all these colonies will be completed by the end of 2020-21. The CM had announced Local Area Development' scheme to supplement the general development work at the local level, and allocated ₹400 crore for the same, in addition to ₹450 crore for the 'Mukhyamantri Sadak Punrothan Yojana'. In the total outlay of ₹5,941crore for public transport sector in 2020-21, he proposed an allocation of ₹900 crore for Delhi Metro's Phase – IV project. This will be in addition to ₹1,324 crore in revised estimate of 2019-20 and ₹200 crore released to DMRC in 2018-19 for the project.
