TN sets to start work on three bridge projects

Bridge Project
Construction of three bridges over the Puzhal surplus canal is set to start as the Greater Chennai Corporation has issued a letter of acceptance to a contractor for the work. The ₹37.64 crore project will include building bridges at Amullavoyal, Vadaperumbakkam and Burma Nagar within 15 months. The bridges to be built at a height of 4m-4.5m from the canal bed will ensure that vehicular traffic is not affected if the canal overflows during heavy rain. At Amullavoyal, the bridge will be 108.50m long and 12.5m wide and will connect Andarkuppan and 200-Feet Road in Manali. The second bridge at Vadaperumbakkam of 90m length and 14m wide, will connect Tirupati National Highway and Madhavaram. The third bridge will replace the existing iron bridge at Burma Nagar connecting Manali Expressway and Burma Nagar Main Road, and commanding a length of 100m and 12m width. This will facilitate travel of residents of Manali, Burma Nagar and Sadayankuppam area.
