Tata Power, NSDC Partner to Boost Green Energy Skill Development
Tata Power and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance skill development in India’s power sector, with a focus on green jobs and transmission and distribution roles.
Under this collaboration, Tata Power’s Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) will serve as NSDC’s Training Partner, offering industry-aligned programs in green energy, power transmission, distribution, and industrial safety. The training will emphasize hands-on learning to equip trainees with practical, job-ready skills aligned with the growing demands of the energy transition and a net-zero future.
As a testament to its growing impact, TPSDI has already sensitized and trained over three lakh individuals, playing a vital role in bridging the skill gap across the power sector. Building on this momentum, Tata Power plans to significantly expand TPSDI’s reach by setting up more training centers across the country, in addition to the 11 centers currently in operation, thereby strengthening access to quality vocational training for youth across diverse geographies.
The partnership also provides a platform for the addition of new, future-ready domains such as energy storage, green hydrogen, and pumped hydros, aligned with India's rapidly evolving green energy ecosystem. These structured programs will bolster the nation’s talent pipeline and accelerate its clean energy transition.
