Surat to Redevelop Airport & Udhna Magdalla Road Stretches as Iconic Urban Landmarks

Urban Infrastructure

In a significant move to enhance urban infrastructure and boost visual appeal, the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced the redevelopment of two key road stretches into iconic city landmarks.

The project will transform the 2 km stretch from Surat International Airport gate to Kuvada Junction on Dumas Road, and a 7.7 km stretch from Y Junction on Dumas Road to Sosyo Circle on Udhna Magdalla Road. Both roads, each 60 metres wide, will be revamped to improve aesthetics, traffic flow, and overall urban experience.

The redevelopment covers approximately 40,000 sq m for the airport stretch and 112,000 sq m for the Udhna Magdalla Road segment. This initiative follows the successful makeover of the road between Magdalla Crossroads and the airport gate, which set a precedent as an iconic urban corridor.

The new project aims to replicate that model, integrating functionality with modern design to create visually striking, people-friendly infrastructure.
