Sumadhura Group Builds 1.4 km Sustainable Urban Roadway in East Bengaluru to Improve Mobility and Safety

Sumadhura Group has unveiled a first-of-its-kind 1.4-kilometre sustainable urban roadway in East Bengaluru, developed under its Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative. The upgraded stretch on Doddabbanahalli Road, off the Whitefield–Hoskote main road, is designed to improve mobility, safety and environmental resilience for more than 5,000 families in the area.

The road, once narrow and under-developed, has been reconstructed into a modern two-way carriageway with enhanced connectivity, efficient water management systems and aesthetic improvements. The initiative aims to create a safer, smoother and more sustainable commuting experience for the community.

The project was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Aravind Limbavali, former MLA of Mahadevapura, Smt Manjula Limbavali, MLA of Mahadevapura, and Madhusudhan G, Chairman & Managing Director, Sumadhura Group.

The urban corridor features strategically designed rainwater recharge pits that naturally replenish groundwater, while any excess runoff is safely directed to nearby recharge trenches, helping prevent urban flooding and supporting the surrounding ecosystem.

The project also introduces a modern drainage system, advanced stormwater management, and thoughtfully planned street lighting, turning a once difficult and unsafe route into a safe, welcoming, and environmentally resilient corridor for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Aesthetics and community well-being have been thoughtfully integrated. The corridor features lush green belts, avenue plantations, pedestrian seating zones with benches and segregated waste bins, all framed by freshly painted compound walls for a vibrant, premium look.

With ongoing maintenance by Sumadhura Group, this transformed stretch stands as a symbol of progress, sustainability, and enhanced living standards, offering lasting benefits for residents and the wider community.
