Southern Railways Approves ₹2 Cr Pedestrian Underpass in Karnataka

Southern Railways has sanctioned the construction of a ₹2 crore pedestrian railway underpass at Thokkottu, providing a safe link to Olapete in Karnataka. The 3-metre-wide underpass comes after repeated appeals and inspections, addressing long-standing safety concerns as locals were forced to cross railway tracks illegally due to the absence of a railway gate, foot overbridge, or underpass.

The underpass will improve connectivity between Thokkottu and Olapete, a crucial route linking the National Highway to Ullal town.
