Softbank sharpens realty plans in Punjab

Evincing keen interest in the real estate sector of Punjab, Japan's Softbank Group will be investing in Punjab's realty sector, with a focus on student housing through Indian hotel start-up OYO, which is backed by SoftBank Group. A high-level delegation led by MD Hiroki Kimoto called on Punjab CM, who assured seamless and smooth investment in the state through its single-window clearance platform, Invest Punjab. The new Industrial Policy, lucrative incentives and facilities, are facilitating investors in a big way, with over ₹50,000 crore investments already realized on the ground during the past two years. Punjab has a vibrant real estate sector, with areas around Chandigarh seeing excellent growth. Reputed international players are looking at affordable housing, student and senior citizen housing as a potential investment sector.
