Shree Cement, which had participated in auction for coal linkages in Chhattisgarh from state-run Coal India subsidiary, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL), finally won the bid for 80,000 tons per annum capacity and has to invest Rs. 700-cr to achieve the targeted 2.6 million tons per annum (mtpa). The company will get the supply of the dry fuel mainly from New Kusmunda mine in Chhattisgarh for Rs. 970 per ton and it has decided to set up a clinker plant with 2.8 mtpa capacity at its integrated cement plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The targeted investment excludes the cost of land and allied investment on the allied infrastructure and it is financing the amount through internal accruals and the exercise will be completed by March 2018, said an official spokesperson.
