Shivraj-Singh-PMGSY-Progress
Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, reviewed the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and issued directives for the upcoming action plan. During the review meeting, officials briefed the Minister on the state-wise progress of PMGSY, noting that while work in certain hilly and disaster-affected areas had temporarily slowed due to natural calamities, implementation in other regions was progressing smoothly.

Special attention was given to the northeastern states and Left-Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected regions, including Chhattisgarh. Shri Chouhan directed officials to intensify development efforts in the Northeast and announced plans to chair a dedicated review meeting in the region covering key rural development schemes such as PMGSY, MGNREGA, Skill Development, and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) to ensure effective and time-bound implementation

He urged officials to accelerate project execution, strengthen coordination with state governments, and ensure all road construction projects adhere to high-quality standards and are completed within stipulated timelines, thereby supporting inclusive and sustainable rural growth.
