The construction work of installing double track rail lines on the 81-km stretch between Parbhani and Mudkhed in the Marathwada region has picked up pace and is expected to be completed shortly. The project has been accorded priority by the PMO and is being monitored by Union Railways minister, informed chief public relations officer M Umashankar Kumar. The project was sanctioned in 2012-2013 for an estimated cost of ₹400 crore. All the major works like land acquisition, laying down cable works, construction of major and minor bridges, road under bridges, relay rooms and cabins have been completed.
