SCR plans ₹1,764-cr rail line in AP

The South Central Railway has planned to lay Patancheru and Medak rail line via Sangareddy at an investment of ₹1,764 crore. General Manager, Gajanan Mallya, has sent proposals to the Railway Board. The proposed rail line between Patancheru and Medak will start at Nagulapalli and pass through Indrakaran, Sangareddy, Chakriyal, Choutkur, Jogipet, Dumpalakunta, Ghanapur, Machavaram and Medak, covering about 86.7 km. Out of the total project cost, the State government has to shell out an amount of about ₹900 crore to complete the project. Locals believe that the railway line will become the lifeline for economic activity in and around the Sangareddy and Medak areas of the state.
