The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has decided to take up the construction of new housing units for its staff entailing an investment of ₹210 crore. The Board of Directors has approved the proposal of the state government whereby the first phase of construction of quarters has been taken up in Sattupalli area and the board has approved the construction of 994 double bedroom type spacious quarters at Bhupalapalli area. The Board has approved setting up of a new environment department which will include specialists to implement environmental protection efficiently. The board appreciated the construction of 300 MW solar power plants for which tenders were called for the first and second phase and also the starting operations of a 10-megawatt power plant. SCCL will also start the Yellandu and Manuguru Solar Plants for which the tenders are being finalized and will be floated shortly.
