S. Pallonji starts construction of tallest towers in Bengal
Construction of the tallest tower on the suburbs of Howrah city in West Bengal is set to start soon following the to the realty project from both the Centre and state agencies. The Shapoorji Pallonji Group, which is developing Joyville, an affordable housing project in Howrah's Salap, was the first builder to respond to the go-ahead given by the state and central governments. The company has already started talking to its construction partners to commence work as quickly as possible, utilizing the workforce that has been staying at its project site since the lockdown was announced, said Housing managing director Sriram Mahadevan, Joyville Shapoorji said. Apart from this, Shriram Grand City that is developing a township project in Hind Motor, Hooghly, is also commencing work while adhering to the social distancing norms. Alcove Realty executive director Yashasvi Shroff, too, said the company would resume work on the New Kolkata project in Serampore for which it is liaising with its construction partners and vendors to source the materials needed. Since there is no embargo on movement of materials nw, the group is also resuming work on The 42 - the 63-storey luxury residential project at Chowringhee which was halted when the Covid-19 lockdown was announced. The company is assessing the materials and manpower available and will resume construction work immediately.
