Rs 450 Cr Porvorim Elevated Corridor in Goa to Open by October

Elevated-Corridor
The six-lane Porvorim Elevated Corridor in Porvorim is now expected to be completed and opened to traffic by October, with around 70 per cent of the work already finished, according to Public Works Department officials.

The project, estimated at Rs 450 crore and funded by the Union highways ministry, is aimed at easing congestion on one of Goa’s busiest road stretches. Construction began in September 2024, and significant progress has been achieved, with only superstructure work remaining.

Once operational, the elevated corridor is expected to provide much-needed traffic relief by improving vehicle flow and reducing travel time along the Porvorim stretch, which currently experiences heavy congestion during peak hours.
