UP unveils ₹3,300-cr highway in Chitrakoot district

Uttar Pradesh government is all set to start the construction of a 132 km long road in Chitrakoot district at ₹3,300 crore investment. The district magistrates will work together to ensure smooth construction of the road known as Ram Van Gaman Marg, the route reportedly taken by Lord Ram for exile. Starting from Mohanlalhsganj to Raipura in Chitrakoot, the work will be carried out in a phased manner. There are a total of 44 such religious spots on the Ram Van Gaman Marg. The development and construction of NH-731A from Mohanganj to Jethwara - Shringverpur - Muratganj - Mahewaghat - Rajapur to Chitrakoot has been divided into four phases. In the first phase, the length of the route from Mohanganj to Autarpur is 35 km and the second one is 29.682 km from Autarpur to Muratganj, which will also house a six-lane 1200-meter-long bridge on the river Ganga at Shringverpur Dham. The third phase is 48.068 km in length from Muratganj to Mahewaghat, it is proposed to be widened to four lanes. The route also includes the construction of Manjhanpur and Rajapur bypasses. The fourth phase is from Rajapur to Raipura with 19.25 km length.
