UP approves Rs.801-cr for elevated Chilla Road construction in NCR
Uttar Pradesh government has approved Rs. 801 crore for construction of Chilla Elevated Road Project connecting Delhi with Noida. The 5.96km project will be executed by the Noida Authority and was halted due to insufficient funds. A committee led by the UP chief secretary (finance) approved the funds after the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai cleared the project following an inspection. The Uttar Pradesh Bridge Corporation will soon issue a tender to select a contractor, and the authority plans to complete the project within three years of commencing work on the site. Once completed, the elevated road will ease traffic congestion on the 2-km stretch of the Delhi-Noida link road connecting Delhi's Mayur Vihar to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
