Union Transport Ministry approves ₹6,612-cr for Telangana road infra projects

The Union Transport Ministry has approved ₹6,612.44 crore for the construction of roads and bridges in Telangana. The funding includes ₹535.09 crore for widening the 25-km stretch of NH-65 from LB Nagar to Malkapur into six lanes and ₹500 crore for the construction of an iconic hybrid cable suspension bridge across the Krishna River on NH-167-K.

The Ministry has also allocated ₹355.45 crore for widening 70 km of road on NH-765 between Medak-Siddipet, ₹322.96 crore for widening the Kalwakurthy-Kolhapur section of NH- 167K, ₹278.28 crore for widening NH-161 between Bodhan-Basara-Bhainsa NH-167 between Mahabubnagar Chincholi, and ₹254 crore for widening 167-N into four lanes.

Furthermore, the Ministry has allocated ₹248 crore for widening NH-765 between Siddipet-Elkathurthi to 2 lanes, ₹229 crore for widening the road between Medak-Yellareddy to two lanes, ₹309 crore for widening NH-765-D between Yellareddy-Rudrapur, and ₹273 crore for the expansion of Khammam-Kuravi section on NH 365-A.

These projects are expected to significantly improve Telangana's road infrastructure, leading to better connectivity and enhanced economic growth in the region.
