The Union government has expedited the construction of the Agra-Gwalior Green Expressway, with an investment of ₹2,497.84 crore. The six-lane expressway, which will connect Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, will reduce travel time between Agra and Gwalior to just one hour, and connect with the proposed Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, reducing travel time between Delhi and Gwalior to four hours.

The expressway will feature electric charging stations and will boost the connectivity of several important cities, as it will be linked to the Bundelkhand Expressway, the Agra Expressway, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The construction of the 88.4 km expressway, to be built by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), will commence soon and is expected to be completed in 2027.
