MoRTH approves Rs. 5,500-cr for elevated road to KNP in Assam

The Union Transport ministry has allocated Rs 5,500 crore for the construction of a 4-lane long elevated road to Kaziranga National Park. This 34km elevated expressway will be a wildlife-friendly for the National Park. The elevated road along NH-715 (old NH-37) will be at three locations with a total length of 34.28 km and will include two tunnels, Assam chief minister has informed. The work has been entrusted to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the state Public Works department has already been handed over to the nodal road-building agency.
