Govt infuses ₹850-cr for Nagpur-Ratnagiri NH project

four-lane
The Union transport ministry has released ₹850 crore to accelerate the construction of the four-lane Amba-Chokak stretch of the Nagpur-Ratnagiri National Highway in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. According to the Project Director for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Vasant Pandarkar, the availability of funds will likely lead to an increase in the pace of construction. Land acquisition for the project has been completed in four phases, with 96% of the land already acquired. The government has allocated ₹258.5 crore for the first phase and ₹77.8 crore for the second phase. The remaining land acquisition was delayed due to a lack of funds for compensation for landowners.
