The Union Transport Ministry has approved ₹784.35 crore for the construction of the four-lane Shahpur bypass to Muktai Nagar section of NH-753L in Jalgaon, Maharashtra and Burhanpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The project, which will be built under the Bharatmala project using the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), is a 2-lane carriageway road that starts at the junction with NH-753F near Pahur, connects Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh and Jamner, Bodwad, and Muktainagar in Maharashtra, and ends at the junction with NH-347B near Khandwa, with provisions for bypasses at necessary places along the route. The project includes the four-laning of the entire road from Boregaon Buzurg to Muktai Nagar and, upon completion, will divert traffic from Indore to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) through this route.
