Environmental clearance granted for Chittoor-Thatchur Highway

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has granted environmental clearance for the construction of the six-lane Chittoor-Thatchur highway (NH-716B). The 116.10 km long greenfield national highway project, which will be built by the National Highways Authority of India under the Bharatmala Pariyojna, will start from the junction of the proposed Bengaluru-Chennai expressway near Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and end at NH-5 near Thatchur on the proposed Chennai Peripheral Road project in Thiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu.

The project is being implemented in four packages on a hybrid annuity model (HAM) by contractors KCC Buildcon (Package-I), EKK Infrastructures (Package-II), KNR Constructions (Package-III), and IRB Infrastructure (Package-IV).
