Centre approves ₹9,000-cr Anantapur-Guntur NH in AP

The Indian government has approved the construction of a 417 km national highway between Anantapur and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of ₹9,000 crore. The highway will be developed under the hybrid annuity model (HAM) and will connect the existing national highways and upgrade remaining sections to four-lane highways. The proposed route will pass through Tadipatri, Kolimigundla, Owk, Banaganapalli, Nandyal, Gajualapalli, Giddalur, Cumbum, Thokapalli, Vinukonda, and Narasaraopet. The Union transport ministry is expected to invite bids for the project in the coming month, with construction expected to begin soon.
