The Rajasthan government has handed over the task of building 576 flats at an investment of ₹200 crore to Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB). Sstate UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal laid the foundation stone for the mega venture. The project, which has been named as Mukhyamantri Shikshak and Prahri Awas Yojana, will be completed within two and half years. In the project, the state government will construct flats for MLAs at Jyoti Nagar, Lal Koti and Jalupura areas of the state capital. The JDA is cooperating and transferring the title of land to RHB. Apart from this, the minister has launched two similar housing projects in other parts of the state to ensure adequate housing is available for various sections of the society. To compete with private builders in terms of facilities and infrastructure, the RHB, for the first time, has proposed to build a swimming pool, gym and cycle track, basketball and baseball courts for the residents. RHB commissioner Pawan Arora said that this will be RHB's first ever scheme to have such infrastructure. Apart from this, in Sector 26 of the city, the board earmarked 20,925 sqm area to develop condominiums and allied infrastructure in and around the housing colonies.
