Railways Sanctions Rs 836 Cr Kalyan–Murbad New Rail Line Project in Maharashtra

The Indian Railways
The Indian Railways has sanctioned the Kalyan–Murbad new rail line project in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 836 crore. The 28 km rail line will be developed on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis between Indian Railways and the Government of Maharashtra.

The project has been declared a Special Railway Project for land acquisition to accelerate implementation. It requires around 214 hectares of land, and acquisition proposals have already been submitted to the state government. The process is currently underway at various stages of approval and acquisition.
