Railway unveils rail lines in Chhattisgarh
Adding to the rail infrastructure in the state, under first phase of East Rail Corridor, Chhattisgarh CM and Union Minister for Railways laid the foundation stones for multiple projects entailing an investment worth ₹4,641 crore. The projects included East Rail Corridor and East-West Railway Corridor covering Kharsia-Gharghoda-Korichapar-Dharamjaigarh and also Ghargoda to Donga Mahua, Gare Pelma command a 132 km railway track length. Under this new railway project nine stations including Gurda, Chal, Dharghoda, Korichapar, Kurumkela, Dharamjaigarh, Bhalumada and Garepelma would be constructed at an investment of ₹3,055 crore. In the project, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)-64%, Ircon 26%, and the Chhattisgarh government would bear the 10% cost of the project. Similarly, under second phase of the East Corridor Project 63 km long railway track between Dharamjaigarh-Korba-Urga would be laid at an investment of ₹1,686 crore, which also involved the construction of six railway stations at Khadgaon, HATI, Dhinara, Dongama and Bhaisma, said official sources.
