Railway Minister Announces ₹1 Lakh Cr Worth of Projects for Odisha

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that new railway projects worth ₹1 lakh crore will be implemented in Odisha over the next five years. The Union minister highlighted that the railway budget allocation for Odisha has increased significantly from ₹800 crore during the UPA government to over ₹10,000 crore under the Modi government.

In the past three consecutive years, Odisha has received over ₹10,000 crore annually for railway development. Additionally, a new railway line of 1,826 km was constructed in Odisha over the last decade, surpassing the total railway network of Sri Lanka (1,700 km).
