Ring Road
The state finance minister has recently launched a Ring Road project at Patel Nagar on the Bathinda-Barnala highway at an investment of ₹95 crore. The project is aimed at decongesting traffic in the city and reducing commuting time between Mansa Road and Barnala Road. This four-lane road with a green cover will have a length of nearly 5 km with a railway under bridge. It will be 200-ft wide road with 24 ft for the green cover and road will be built on a 45-acre area starting from the National Highway-7 (Bathinda-Patiala Road) through Industrial Area up to ITI Chowk (Bathinda-Mansa Road). Among others, the distance from the Barnala side to Mansa, Dabwali and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib will also be reduced. The FM added that Bathinda is fast becoming an industrial hub and the road project will accommodate more vehicles in the near future.
