The state government in Maharashtra has made a provision worth ₹1,722 crore for the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) of which ₹320 crore has been allocated for the town-planning schemes undertaken by the nodal agency across its jurisdiction. Of the total amount about ₹569 crore has been allocated for the 128-km long ring road project and ₹392 crore for acquiring land for the metro project. The Mhalunge-Mann town planning scheme is in the final stages of implementation with the arbitration process currently underway and that the Manjri-Khurd scheme has been published and four more are to be published soon. This will provide a major push for housing in this region. Among the villages considered for the townships after Manjri Khurd are Wadachi Wadi, Avatalewadi, Holkarwadi, Wadki, Manjri Budruk, Phursungi, Urali Devachi, Yevalewadi, Pissoli and Handewadi whereby some villages will have one township only, others may have two, PMRDA official sources said.
