The Centre has approved road and highways development projects worth ₹2,185 crore for Puducherry, said the state's CM V Narayanasamy. Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari during his recent visit to the area had approved these developmental projects including introduction of four way lanes linking the UT with important areas of the adjoining states and segments and implementation of welfare and infrastructure projects. The centrally-sponsored Ayushman Bharath scheme now covering one lakh families would be expanded to cover all the 2.5 lakh families in the UT.
