President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates IT Campus and Lays Foundation for AYUSH Hospital in Rairangpur

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University Information Technology Campus and laid the foundation stones for several development projects in Rairangpur, Odisha. The projects include an AYUSH Hospital cum Ayurvedic College, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology campus, archery centre, city beautification and drainage upgrades, an auditorium and cultural centre, a girls’ hostel and a deaddiction centre.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that the Purvodaya vision of the Government of India gives priority to Odisha’s development and that Mayurbhanj district is gaining significant benefits from this approach. She expressed confidence that these institutions and projects would create new employment opportunities and accelerate regional growth.

The President highlighted the government’s focused efforts for the economic upliftment of tribal communities. She referred to initiatives such as minimum support price for over 90 minor forest products under the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana, micro credit support for tribal self-help groups and low-interest loans for Scheduled Tribe women through the Tribal Women Empowerment Scheme. She also noted improvements in health, education, electrification and 4G connectivity in tribal-dominated and remote areas under the Pradhan Mantri JANMAN Yojana.

She emphasised that the upliftment of the poorest sections is possible only through the development of tribal communities and urged citizens to take full benefit of government welfare schemes. The President said that collective efforts of the government and people would help achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
